VISUALIZING KNOWLEDGE 19

In 2019, I was part of planning and organizing the conference Visualizing Knowledge 19 at Dipoli, Aalto University. We were a team of seven students, and we got help from Aalto staff and faculty. My role was Team Lead & PR. This conference has been organised since 2012, but only once before in this scale. The whole project was a very valuable experience for me, as I now know the overall picture of organizing a bigger event from beginning to end. I also got to host the conference, which itself was a very cool experience.

Data Sensations.

Visualizing Knowledge brings together a diverse group of practitioners to discuss data visualization from multiple perspectives. This year’s event is centered around the symbiosis between natural sciences, information design and visual narratives with the key concept of senses – from human senses to machine sensors.

Text from the event website (vizknowledge.aalto.fi/archive/2019/). The event consisted of a whole-day conference, two days of workshops, and an exhibition that showcased new talents from the field of Information Design.
