GROWING SOMETHING WRITTEN
Besides art & design, I have always been interested in biology. Through a course called Bio Materiality at Aalto University, I got introduced to fungi and the world of microbiology. This course left me deeply thoughtful, and to realise the importance of empathy also towards other-than-human. This led me to the question: Is it possible to bring awareness to fungi and the underground connections through the familiar media of text and typography?
This project became the design part of my Master’s Thesis in Visual Communication Design, Aalto University 2022.
